Welcome to happy beef, a family business in Cheshire with two simple goals; to look after our cows, and make sure that our grass-fed beef tastes great! Our cows are only fed with grass, which provides them with 100% of their needed nutrients, 100% of the time. We love to have visitors and we are always happy for you to meet the herd. Please feel free to stop by and say hello.

Traceable from our fields in Crowton to your table at home. Our beef is dry-aged, and we sell all cuts direct from the Happy Shack at our lovely little farm in Cheshire, from mince to steak, shin, joints and brisket.

Free to stop by and buy from us - We’re around most days from 9am until 5pm.

What a cow eats has a large effect on the nutrients of the beef, especially with regard to fatty acids.

Cows are ruminants and are able to acquire nutrients from plant-based food by fermenting it in a specialised stomach prior to digestion. The process of chewing the cud to further break down plant matter and stimulate digestion is called rumination. The word 'ruminant' comes from the Latin word ruminaire which means 'to chew over again'. There are about 150 species of ruminants which include both domestic and wild species.

Cows are also efficient food production machines, eating up all our grass so there’s no need for fuel-fed heavy machinery on the land, resulting in less carbon emissions!

Grass-fed beef contains more Carotenoids, Vitamin E and minerals like Potassium, Iron, Zinc, Phosphorus and Sodium.
